Our adventure to Annapurna Nar Phu Trekking leads you to a unique hidden villages where the locals hardly see foreign trekkers and adventurer around unspoiled traditional village full of age old ancient cultures and custom interwoven with Buddhism religion, and visiting its impressive monasteries in the shade of giant peaks of Annapurna and Damodar Himal.
Annapurna Nar Phu Trekking begins with exciting scenic drive towards west of Nepal around Lamjung district passing lovely looking villages and towns following the raging Marysangdi River upstream towards farm village at Jagat, where our walk begins heading into Buddhist cultural villages with outstanding views of Lamjung Himal-Manaslu and Annapurna range of peaks within green alpine woodland.
After few days trek on main scenic and famous Annapurna circuit trail, our route diverts from the mainstream trail towards further north around Nar & Phu, which was once a forbidden and restricted country, opened for visitors since last decades where you can explore the hidden villages its traditional life and culture similar to Tibetans, which is across the border northwards from Nar & Phu villages.
Soon our journey leads towards a high and scenic Kang-la pass at 5,322 m high after a wonderful time around hidden Shangri-la at Nar & Phu villages, on crossing the high pass to reach at Manang valley and towards another highest pass of the adventure on top of Thorang-La at above 5,416 m offering spectacular views of wild and picturesque landscapes of Mustang region with Dhaulagiri and Mustang Himal and other range of peaks of Damodar and Annapurna Himalaya.
Finally our adventure leads to lower Mustang with big drop at Kaligandaki River at Jomsom after a pleasant walk past holy Muktinath Temple areas, Jomsom headquarter and main town of Mustang district, where a short scenic flight takes you to beautiful touristic spot Pokhara, blessed with natural magnificent scenery of Annapurna Himalaya and serene lakes.
Annapurna Nar Phu trekking adventure completes after an interesting overland drive back to Kathmandu.

Day to Day Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
On arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International airport, Buna Treks and Expeditions staff will receive you for short transfer in the heart of Kathmandu city to your respective hotels.
After a time for refreshment our guide will brief with information regarding your trek and your times with us in Nepal includes welcome dinner in a pleasant authentic Nepalese Restaurants with cultural programs.
Day 02: Sightseeing tour and trek preparation.
Morning our city guide will pick you for sightseeing tour around Kathmandu valley, as Kathmandu although a metropolitan hub, but still retains its ancient culture and historical sites with World Heritage Sites includes ancient temples, monasteries, old king’s palaces after an interesting tour back to hotel, preparation for Annapurna Nar & Phu trekking.
Day 03: Drive to Jagat 1,450m – 07 hours journey.
Starting our marvelous Annapurna Nar & Phu Trekking with an exciting overland drive towards west as the journey leads on Nepal’s main and busy highway, and then our drive leads the main road towards North West to follow Marysangdi River upstream past warm and scenic farm areas of Lamjung district and then reaching at Syange village, where the rough roads climbs with views of waterfalls at Jagat a nice farm village with many good lodges for overnight stay.
Day 04: Trek to Dharapani 1,920 m – 05 hours.
Morning starting with first day walk of our adventure heading into cool forested area with views of Annapurna and Manaslu mountain range, walk continues towards Chamje and Tal villages located on a nice valley, after Tal another few hours walk brings you at Dharapani village for overnight stop.
Dharapani a nice village with Buddhist culture, located at a junction of Annapurna circuit and Manaslu trekking route.
Day 05: Trek to Kotto 2,670m – 05 hours.
Walk this morning leading through cool shade of alpine forest full of rhododendron and pine trees, as the route leads past Bagarchap, Danque villages to reach at Timang.
From here onwards within more Buddhist religious areas as the walk offers views of Mt. Manaslu, Lamjung and Annapurna II, slowly afternoon walk leads to a nice farm village at Koto for overnight stop near a large town at Chame.
Day 06: Trek to Dharmashala 3,230m – 05 hours.
From Koto our route splits from the main Annapurna circuit trail for a week heading towards Nar & Phu villages, in one of the hidden corners of Mid West Himalaya range on the trail close to Tibet border in the land of blue sheep’s and snow leopards and other wild life that can be seen along this trekking area, walk continues in a narrow valley in between massive walls of towering rock cliffs within cool shade of woodlands of pines and rhododendron tree lines, and then coming towards nice summer pasture fields with huts and sheds of cattle herders and into a gorge created by Pisang Peak and Kang-guru Himal lower basin, walk carries on following Nar-Phu khola (stream) upstream to reach our first overnight stop Dharmashala with houses around of cattle and yak herders.
Day 07: Trek to Kyang 4,100 m – 6 hrs.
Morning trekking towards far northern route, as the walk continues heading towards Phu village in complete isolated area of dry and arid landscapes of Tibetan plateau extension, walk around these area with an opportunity of seeing some wildlife’s Blue Sheep’s, Snow Leopard, Musk deer’s and mountain goats.
As the walk continues finally reach at Kyang for overnight stop after 5-6 hours of interesting trek of the day, Kyang with dozen of farm houses and of Tibetan life style and culture in this wild surrounding.
Day 08: Trek to Phu village 4,080 m – 06 hours.
Today, walk leads to our destination at Phu valley and its village the highlights of this journey, as the morning walk proceeds leading towards a powerful current of Phu Khola and following upstream for some time and then descending back to river again and walking along the river side leading to cross over the stream with a climb to reach a gorge valley, continue walking on the gorge after sometime it finally opens up into wide glacial valley, after few hours of good walk day coming to nice pasture lands and to Phu village for two nights stop in this mystical environment of Phu valley and village strongly of Tibetan influence with similar culture, traditions, religion and way of daily farm life.
Day 09: Rest day at Phu village with short hike around Phu village and valley
An important to have rest day in Phu, an amazing place which helps to acclimatize as well for further higher journey, in this nice village explore around Phu village and it’s small hills for better views and its worth a visit to Tashilkhang and Samdu Choling Monastery and Kyauchyu waterfalls, around Manang with Nar and Phu villages the native has strong connection in Tibetan way of lifestyle, religion, traditions and cultures, consisting of 30 houses for 100 to 150 inhabitants.
Day 10: Trek to Nar Phedi 3,545 m – 06 hrs.
From Phu village with pleasant and interesting time, morning walk heading back on the same path for few hours downhill to a narrow gorge, at Phu khola, from here a slow climb to reach at Yughat small village with mani, chortens and Buddhist shrines, then finally reaching on a flat and even field at Nar Phedi for overnight stop.
Day 11: Trek to Nar-Gaon 4,206 m – 06 hrs.
After staying in a small farm area, today’s walk leads back at Phu Khola for few hours, and then reaching a steel suspension bridge over rampant Phu Khola, after the bridge heading for a steep climb for few hours to reach a flat and gentle path to conclude the day’s walk at Nar village for overnight. Nargaon in comparison with Phu it looks similar but smaller due to its remoteness and high altitude dry terrain.
Day 12: Trek to Kang-La Base Camp 4,530 m – 05 hrs.
With nice overnight stop at Nar-Gaon walk today heads to complete wilderness, away from human settlement for few days till Ngwal and Manang village, an interesting walk on the gradual path for few hours and then with short ups and downs in some rocky and arid ground , passing several cattle herders shelters and grazing field heading further west following Temdenzon khola, as the walk progress in this wild surrounding with awesome scenery of snow peaks and high rolling hills finally ending the trek at Kang la pass base for overnight camp at 4,530 meters altitude.
Day 13: Cross Kangla Pass 5,322m and trek to Ngawal 3,650 m – 07 hrs.
Starting much earlier than normal trekking routine to cross the high pass of Kang-la at an altitude 5,322 meters the highest point so far before Thorang-la, the cold morning walk makes it warmer as the trail climbs higher on the steep slope for 2-3 hours offering striking view of Pisang Peak with Chulu Far East Peak, and then after a strenuous walk reaching the top of the pass with breathtaking views of Annapurna massif mountain range, Chulu Peaks, Lamjung Himal and adjoining peaks of Annapurna range, after a fantastic moment and rest, walk downhill through Julu village and to our overnight halt at Ngawal village which is close to Manang village and the popular Annapurna circuit trail.
Day 14: Trek to Manang 3,450 m – 05 hrs.
After being in the other side of North East Manang at Narphu where Kangla pass separates these two Manang high valleys, the West Manang valley with more nice lodges being in the main trekking route, morning walk is pleasant with striking views of Chulu’s, Pisang peaks and looking south Annapurna II, III, IV Gangapurna mountains with Tilicho peaks, walk continues over a small ridge with awesome scenery of wide valley of Manang and of high mountains on both side of this arctic landscape country, a slow downhill to Humde village with small airstrip, from here reaching at Braga village with its old important monastery of Manang area, worth a visit to Braga monastery with ancient artifacts and statue of various Buddha with mind blowing panorama of snow capped mountains towards northern Annapurna range and of Pisang, Chulu peaks. After a wonderful time here carry on trekking for an hour to proper Manang village for tow night stay in one of its many excellent lodges.
Day 15: Trek to Yak Kharka 4,110 m – 04 hours.
After a fascinating time at Nar & Phu and around Manang village, morning walk leads towards Thorang-la to reach at Yak Kharka, a scenic morning walk with grand views of Chulu West and Gangapurna Himal, and then crossing a small stream to reach at Yak Kharka for lunch and overnight stop, this is a small settlement with several good lodges offering incredible views of Gangapurna, Annapurna III and Chulu Peaks.
Day 16: Trek to Thorang High Camp 4,600 m – 04 hrs.
Morning walk leads closer to Thorang-la as the walk progress crossing a bridge and then a climb along the Jarjung River, then leading at Thorung Phedi for short rest and then climb the last hour uphill to Thorang High Camp for overnight stop.
Day 17: Cross Thorang-La 5,416 m and to Muktinath 3,800 m – 07 hrs.
Start the early morning walk on this exciting day, one of the highlight of the adventure, after breakfast a long climb up to Thorang-la with steep haul to reach at 5,416 m / 17,769 ft on top of Thorang-la festooned with Buddhist prayer flags.
Highest point of the adventure certainly requires high spirit and strong mind to reach this high point. The top offers superb vista landscapes and snowcapped peaks, from here a long descend to Muktinath at 3,800 m. Muktinath a holy place for both Hindu and Buddhist the word Muktinath literally means ‘the place for Nirvana or Liberation’.
Day 18: Trek to Jomsom 2, 715 m – 04 hours.
After Muktinath, rest of the journey is easier with moderate walks all the way with a big drop of 1,200m downhill to Kaligandaki river valley, this pleasant walk leads to Kaligandaki river valley, from here walk to Jomsom, headquarter town of Mustang area with a small airstrip above Kaligandaki River, at Jomsom afternoon free to explore the town famous for delicious apples and its various products.
Day 19: Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara 860m. (20 mins scenic flight)
From Jomsom morning transfer to airport for short scenic flight to picturesque Pokhara for overnight stop by the serene Lake Phewa where most of the hotels and lodges located.
Pokhara, a popular touristic city, where the peaks of Annapurna Mountain range reflects on its beautiful serene lakes of Phewa and Begnas.
Day 20: Drive / Fly back to Kathmandu.
After a marvelous time on high mountains and scenic valley around north of Annapurna Himalaya, morning depart from Pokhara for the drive back to Kathmandu. On reaching Kathmandu check to your respective hotel with afternoon free for individual activities and shopping.

Day 21: International departure for home ward bound.
After a memorable time and great adventure around Annapurna Nar & Phu trekking and your last day in Nepal, a country full of amazing views and Himalayan wonders, as per the flight time our staff transfers you for the final departure homeward bound.
