Day 15: Summit of Paldor and return to Base Camp.
From High Camp follow the Paldor Glacier East, without difficulty, north towards a col on the North-East Ridge (Windy Col). Crossing and climbing a steep snow slope to gain the col. Baldor’s position, its summit commands views stretching from Maccahapuchare in the west all the way across to the peaks of the Khumbu. Shisapangma and the brown hills of Tibet are another part of this stunning summit panorama. I availed Buna Trek’s Kathmandu Valley One Day Sightseeing Tour and it was truly one of the highlights of my stay in Kathmandu. Rudra was a spectacular tour guide and knew the city and its history like the back of his hands. I particularly enjoyed Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swayambhunath Stupa. The tour was well organized and leisurely paced. The transfer from my hotel to the sites and stopovers were seamless and Rudra was very accommodating and cheerful during the entire trip. Rudra even took the time to accompany in Thamel to explore the area’s nightlife and cultural show. I also got to taste authentic local cuisine as per Rudra’s recommendation, and the food in Thamel was nothing short of fantastic! It was like having a local friend tour you in Kathmandu, making the experience worthwhile and truly memorable. Kathmandu may be a tiny city but its people and culture will wow you big time! And all of these I experienced because of Buna Trek and of course Rudra. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience, I will be back for sure!
