Manaslu circuit trek tests your ability, fitness, and passion towards trekking in the strenuous and enduring route of Himalayas. Crossing the highest point on the trek at Larkya La pass is an accomplishment in itself. The glacial lakes, local flora and fauna, charming villages and the stunning view of the scintillating Himalayan range are the major attraction of this Manaslu circuit trek.
After a brief exploration of the world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley, we drive towards Arughat to commence trekking through beautiful forests and small villages. The proper acclimatization is necessary as the altitude of this trek varies from 550meters at Arughat to 5135 meters above sea level at Larkya la pass. Further, we follow the trekking trail that connects Marshyandi valley with Budhi Gandaki river and finally arrives at Beshisahar leaving Bhimpedi and Tilije behind. The tough trekking experience comes to an end after we drive back to Kathmandu from Beshisahar.
While embarking around Manaslu, previous trekking experience is highly recommended as the trail is strenuous and requires a high level of physical fitness. Trek through off the beaten paths of rural Nepal and get the unique experience of trekking in Manaslu region professionally organized by BUNA treks and expeditions.
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel
On arrival in Kathmandu Tribhuvan International airport, where BUNA staff receives you with a warm welcome and transfer you to respective hotels in the heart of Kathmandu city around exciting Thamel area, where most of the hotels-shops and world-class restaurants located.
After getting refreshed our guide and staff brief you with information regarding your stay in Nepal with us includes full details of Around Manaslu Trekking, with an evening welcome dinner in an authentic Nepalese restaurant with cultural programs.
Day 02: In Kathmandu with a sightseeing tour and trip preparations
Morning after breakfast our city guide will take you on a tour for few hours where you will be thrilled with interesting historical and cultural places, as Kathmandu valley steeped with history and world heritage sites, after an enjoyable tour back to hotel with free afternoon for individual activities and Around Manaslu Trekking preparations for next early morning.
Day 03: Drive to Soti-Khola 730 m via Arughat- 07 hrs
Starting this wonderful trekking to Manaslu with an exciting drive following Trisuli River for a while along the busy highway of Nepal, that connects various destination, leaving the main road our route diverts across Trisuli River to mid hill town of Dhading-Besi, and then on the dirt track for few hours reaching warmer area at Arughat bazaar.
From Arughat village continue to drive on the dirt road following Buri Gandaki River upstream through many scattered farm fields and villages with views of Ganesh II at 7,118 m, Ganesh IV 7,104 meters. Drive follows Buri Gandaki River to reach Arkhet village, from here an hour ride to Soti-Khola for an overnight stop.
Day 04: Trek to Machha-Khola 930m – 05 hrs
After a nice stop in this small village, walk starts with downhill to a riverside with small tea shops, continue on the nice paved stone steps to cross NauliKhola (stream) overlooking waterfalls and then coming at Khanigaon a small village, then walk on gradual path to cross another bridge to reach our overnight stop at Machha Khola, a small farm village by the stream where fishing is popular, the name of this village called Machha Khola meaning fishing stream.
Day 05: Trek to Jagat 1,410m- 06 hrs
On leaving warmer to the cooler area as the morning walk starts following Buri Gandaki River upstream passing small villages of Khorla Beshi after few stops walk on winding trail to reach Tatopani a place with hot spring.
Tatopani for hot water or natural hot springs located in the midst of a forest. After a pleasant stop walk to Dovan and Yaruphants, after crossing a bridge a short climb to our overnight halt at Jagat village a moderate size and populated village of typical Nepali style houses with a great number of shops and lodges.
Day 06: Trek to Dyang 1,800m – 06 hrs
From Jagat village walk heads higher gaining much elevation to a cooler area, leaving rice fields, farm villages and coming at Sidibas Bazaar, a nice small farm village and then uphill to cross a small bridge at place Nagjet, to reach Philim village a nice large farm village and populated with nice houses. Slowly our walk heads up the hill to reach a large rocky top walking into a bamboo forest and coming to a clearing on leaving the forest reaching at Dyang village for an overnight stop.
Day 07: Trek to Ghap 2,160m – 04 hrs
From this village onwards you can notice the difference of Tibetan origin and culture and traditions. After Dyang a slow descent, then walk by the riverside to cross a fast torrent river to reach Bihi Bazaar.
A small farm village with small stores and tea shops, and then continue walking for a few hours to Ghap village for an overnight stop.
Day 08: Trek to Lo 3,180m – 06 hrs
Walk continues along with scenic views to reach upper side of Manaslu area s the walk follows Budhi-Gandaki River, after crossing leading to scattered small farm villages and nice well maintained terraced of millets, wheat’s, barley (as rice is grown only in warm area below 2,000 meters) with few breaks in between, walk through Numrung village with first close views of Mt. Manaslu North Face at 8,163 meters high with adjoining peaks.
After enjoying the grand views of mountains walk leads past Banjham, Lhi and Shosmall village another hour’s walk to Lo village for an overnight halt, this village also called as Lo-Bazaar.
Day 09: Trek to Sama-gaon 3,530 m- 06 hrs
After Lo village with views of striking sunrise over towering Mt. Manaslu, walk today quite long but rewarded beautiful views, walk leads to Upper Manaslu within high hills and mountains both side of the valley and then reaching at Sama-gaon, the main / major villages of Upper Manaslu where strong trade used to take place in early days, the caravan route to Tibet trade still exists but in a small way.
At Sama-gaon after getting organized in a nice lodge with time for a tour around the village with strong Tibetan culture.
Day 10: Rest day in Sama-gaon for acclimatization
A necessary rest day at this altitude before heading up at Larkya-la, explore the village and its monastery nearby with a grand vista of snow peaks of many flurries of snow-capped peaks with Mt. Manaslu.
From Sama-gaon located on route to Manaslu base camp as well.
Day 11: Trek to Samdo 3,860m – 05hrs
From Sama-gaon starting the morning walk heading higher on open wide valley with few vegetation of rhododendron and juniper bushes, from here onwards tree lines end, walk passes few summer shelters and farmlands and over Manaslu Glacier with views of Birendra Lake also called Sama-gaon Pokhari (pond) as the walk progress towards Samdo village close to the border of Tibet.
After a nice walk for five hours reaching at Samdo the last village before Larky-la pass and to Dharapani village,
on the main Annapurna circuit route to Manang area.
Samdo a large village, where local trade with Tibet still goes on leading Yaks caravan to bring Chinese goods in exchange for Nepali foodstuff and spices.
Day 12: Trek to Dharamsala / Larkyaphedi 4,460m – 04 hrs
After Samdo-gaon heading towards the base of Larkya-la pass at Dharmasala or Phedi, the walk is short this morning for 3-4 hours to reach our lunch and overnight stop.
Starting the walk crossing a stream flowing from Gya La which is near Tibet border, walking ahead leaving the cross trail that leads to upper north towards Tibet frontier, with views then reaching at Dharmasala also called as Larkya Bazaar(before Chinese invaded Tibet, a market or bazaar used to take place here people coming from both side of exchanging and trading goods).
Day 13: Cross Larkya la 5,200m /17,060 ft and to Bimthang 3,720m – 08 hrs
Starting much earlier this morning for the Big and long day reach over Larkya-la at 5,200 meters / 17,060 ft high pass, walk leads to steep climb with views of mountains, then leading pasts four frozen ponds then last haul to Larkya La top, the highest point of this adventure with magnificent views of Mt. Manaslu, Larkya peak, Himlung Himal and Ganesh Himal towards east. From the top downhill for few hours to reach back into tree lines of rhododendron, pines and firs forest, the walk continues to reach at Bhimthang for an overnight stop after a long day walk, Bhimthang a nice spot with large green meadow surrounded by tall coniferous trees.
Day 14: Trek to Gho 2,560m – 05 hrs
From this wonderful place, Bhimthang with a number of small and neat lodges walk continues to reach Annapurna circuit route at Dharapani for last overnight stop, Morning an easy walk to Gho through a beautiful forest on reaching Gho, a small settlement in the middle of enchanting woodland.
Day 15: Trek to Dharapani 1,860 m – 05 hrs
Morning downhill all the way till Tilje village, walking into dense rhododendron, pines and oaks forest and then reach Tilje, a nice village located by the Marysangdi River beneath Dharapani village, after rest and lunch break. From here climb to Dharapani village for an overnight stop, this village has many good lodges along the popular Annapurna circuit trail.
Day 16: Drive to Kathmandu through Besisar 830 m – 07 hrs
Ending the walk at Dharapani, morning taking a jeep ride on the winding downhill road above Marysangdi river reaching the warmer area, and back into farm terraces of rice paddies to Beshisar a headquarter town of Lamjung district. From here a change of vehicles for the drive back to Kathmandu taking another 5 hours of exciting journey to reach city life of Kathmandu.

Year of 2023 we group of people did a wonderful three weeks Manaslu Circuit + Tsum Valley Trek which is organized by Buna Treks & Expedition Company. This was an amazing experience and the level of service and support we received from the agency and its staff exceeded our expectations. Mr. Rudra director of this company, he is professionals and he is expertise of tourism industry, he advice for us was great and fruitful, each time patiently answered in clear manner all of my questions, the manager Sunita came to airport in Kathmandu for our Arrivals. The way she welcomed us was admired at the very first foot step in a beautiful country then checked in at the hotel. Second day we have done Kathmandu day tour with mit city guide Mrs. Prava, then we had a great dinner meeting with manager Sunita and guide Mr. Bikash. As the guide told us, we packed our stuff. Day 3rd departure from our trek. All Buna crew members Guide Bikash and Porter Chewan, Dinesh, Tholo Dai, have done amazing work. We all were happy to choose your company.
We will come back soon and recommend from the bottom of our hearts.

Out of many trekking agency in Nepal, I certainly choose Buna Treks & Expedition pvt. Ltd. For the trek to Gokyo around high Khumbu within Everest region. I have been in Nepal for six times and finally found one of the best trekking agency Buna Treks. Within all the years of experience in Nepal I have used 3 different trekking agency which were not so good and far from my expectations.
Thanks Buna and founder Rudra, your trekking arrangements was so professionals, me and my teams all 14 people were really happy from your staff and with BUNA services. I availed Buna Trek’s Kathmandu Valley One Day Sightseeing Tour and it was truly one of the highlights of my stay in Kathmandu. Rudra was a spectacular tour guide and knew the city and its history like the back of his hands. I particularly enjoyed Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swayambhunath Stupa. The tour was well organized and leisurely paced. The transfer from my hotel to the sites and stopovers were seamless and Rudra was very accommodating and cheerful during the entire trip. Rudra even took the time to accompany in Thamel to explore the area’s nightlife and cultural show. I also got to taste authentic local cuisine as per Rudra’s recommendation, and the food in Thamel was nothing short of fantastic! It was like having a local friend tour you in Kathmandu, making the experience worthwhile and truly memorable. Kathmandu may be a tiny city but its people and culture will wow you big time! And all of these I experienced because of Buna Trek and of course Rudra. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience, I will be back for sure!
